Story

This photo was taken on the morning of June 24th. Our beautiful Mama, excited and beaming in anticipation for the day ahead.

This was the morning of my wedding and the happiest morning of my life.

A morning I will treasure always. Sharing laughs and tears of joy. My parents beaming as they saw me in my dress. My dear Mama's proud face as she watched us exchange our vows and signed the register as our witness.

After the ceremony, us all still on cloud nine, our Mama began to feel unwell. Assuming it was from all of the excitement she decided to go and have a lie down, our Dad joining her to ensure she was okay.

From there it all went so quickly. She lost consciousness and was taken to hospital with no one really grasping that life was about to change forever.

We were told that our happy bubbly Mama, who had been cracking jokes hours before, had suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage and was unlikely to wake up.

Our perfect mother - wife, grandma, sister, friend & teacher tragically passed away.

We still have so many unanswered questions, as to how such a young and fit woman, who always took great pride in her health could become so very ill so quickly and with so very few warning signs.

We will be running to raise awareness and monies for the Stroke Association who work to prevent strokes, and to support everyone touched by stroke as well as fund research.
